It is thirty-seven storeys of concrete dropped into a low city, and opinion about it has never recovered. Nobody defends the architecture.
On the roof is Le Nid — an artwork by Jean Jullien that is also a bar. The seating is a giant white stork curled round the room, and the windows give you the whole city, the Loire, the Erdre and the estuary running west.
Access is by lift and the roof is not always open. Check before making the trip.
The cheapest panorama in the city — you pay for a drink, not for the view, and you are not obliged to have one.
